Averages a series yearly investment returns en shows the difference between the simple average en the compound average, which is the one that matches what your money actually earned.

Zo gebruik je het, stap voor stap

1. Enter the starting Waarde.
2. Enter Per stuk year’s return as a percentage, using a negative Getal voor a Verlies.
3. Add of remove jaar.

Wat elk invoerveld betekent

• Jaarlijks return – The percentage Verandering in that Jaar, including losses.

Zo lees je de resultaten

• Arithmetic Gemiddeld – The simple Gemiddelde the returns.
• Geometric Gemiddeld – The compound Jaarlijks Rente that gives the same final Waarde.
• Volatility – The sample standard deviation the returns.

De formule

Geometric Gemiddeld = (Π (1 + rᵢ))^(1 ÷ n) − 1. Arithmetic Gemiddeld = Σ rᵢ ÷ n. Volatility = √(Σ (rᵢ − Gemiddelde)² ÷ (n − 1)).

Een rekenvoorbeeld

Returns 12%, −8%, 15%, 6% en 9% have an arithmetic average 6.8% but a geometric average 6.48%. 10,000 grows to 13,691.03, a total return 36.91%, with a volatility of 8.93%.
