Zo gebruik je de CIDR calculator

Wat het berekent en wanneer je het gebruikt

Works out the Bereik, subnet mask, wildcard mask en size a CIDR block voor IPv4 of IPv6, accepts an address with a dotted mask, en converts a start en end address into the smallest list CIDR blocks that cover them exactly.

Zo gebruik je het, stap voor stap

  1. Choose “CIDR block” of “Address Bereik”.
  2. Enter a block such as 192.168.10.0/22, or the first en last address a range.
  3. Read the first en last address, masks en number hosts.
  4. For a Bereik, Kopiëren the list CIDR blokken.

Wat elk invoerveld betekent

  • CIDR block, of address with mask – An IPv4 of IPv6 address followed by /prefix, or an IPv4 address en a dotted mask such as 255.255.252.0.
  • First en last address – The two eindigt a range, both IPv4 of both IPv6.

Zo lees je de resultaten

  • Address Bereik – The first en last address the block, en the number addresses.
  • Masks – Subnetmasker en wildcard mask voor IPv4.
  • Usable hosts – Addresses available voor devices: the total minus the network en broadcast addresses, except /31 en /32.
  • CIDR blokken – For a Bereik, the minimum set blokken that covers it.

De formule

A /n block has 2^(bits − n) addresses, where bits is 32 voor IPv4 en 128 voor IPv6. The network address is the given address with the host bits set tot zero. For IPv4 the usable hosts are 2^(32 − n) − 2. IPv6 uses BigInt arithmetic voor exact results.

Een rekenvoorbeeld

192.168.10.0/22 covers 192.168.8.0 tot 192.168.11.255, which is 1,024 addresses en 1,022 usable hosts, with mask 255.255.252.0.

Aannames en beperkingen

  • Usable hosts follow the usual convention removing the network en broadcast addresses. /31 links use both addresses en /32 is a single host.
  • IPv6 blokken have Nee broadcast address.
  • A Bereik that does not fit one block returns several blokken.

Veelgemaakte fouten

  • Entering a host address en expecting it tot be the network address. The tool shows the real network address.
  • Using a non-contiguous mask such as 255.0.255.0, which is not valid.
  • Mixing an IPv4 first address with an IPv6 last address.

Veelgestelde vragen

What is CIDR notation?

A way writing an address range as an address en a prefix length, such as 10.0.0.0/8, where the prefix is the number fixed leading bits.

How many hosts are in a /24?

256 addresses en 254 bruikbare hosts.

What is a wildcard mask?

The inverse the subnet mask, used in access lists. For 255.255.255.0 it is 0.0.0.255.

What is a /64 in IPv6?

The standard Grootte one IPv6 subnet, with 2^64 addresses.

Blik a Bereik always be one block?

Only if it begint on a boundary en its size is a power two. Otherwise it is split into several blocks.
