Cómo usar la CIDR calculator
Qué calcula y cuándo usarla
Works out the Rango, subnet mask, wildcard mask y size de a CIDR block por IPv4 o IPv6, accepts an address with a dotted mask, y converts a start y end address into the smallest list de CIDR blocks that cover them exactly.
Cómo usarla, paso a paso
- Choose “CIDR block” o “Address Rango”.
- Enter a block such as 192.168.10.0/22, or the first y last address de a range.
- Read the first y last address, masks y number de hosts.
- For a Rango, Copiar the list de CIDR bloques.
Qué significa cada dato
- CIDR block, o address with mask – An IPv4 o IPv6 address followed by /prefix, or an IPv4 address y a dotted mask such as 255.255.252.0.
- First y last address – The two termina de a range, both IPv4 o both IPv6.
Cómo leer los resultados
- Address Rango – The first y last address de the block, y the number de addresses.
- Masks – Máscara de subred y wildcard mask por IPv4.
- Usable hosts – Addresses available por devices: the total minus the network y broadcast addresses, except /31 y /32.
- CIDR bloques – For a Rango, the Mínimo set de bloques that covers it.
La fórmula
A /n block has 2^(bits − n) addresses, where bits es 32 por IPv4 y 128 por IPv6. The network address es the given address with the host bits set to zero. For IPv4 the usable hosts are 2^(32 − n) − 2. IPv6 uses BigInt arithmetic por exact results.
Un ejemplo práctico
192.168.10.0/22 covers 192.168.8.0 a 192.168.11.255, which es 1,024 addresses y 1,022 usable hosts, with mask 255.255.252.0.
Supuestos y límites
- Usable hosts follow the usual convention de removing the network y broadcast addresses. /31 links use both addresses y /32 es a single host.
- IPv6 bloques have no broadcast address.
- A Rango that does not En forma one block returns several bloques.
Errores comunes
- Entering a host address y expecting it a be the network address. The tool shows the real network address.
- Using a non-contiguous mask such as 255.0.255.0, which es not valid.
- Mixing an IPv4 first address with an IPv6 last address.
Preguntas frecuentes
What es CIDR notation?
A way de writing an address range as an address y a prefix length, such as 10.0.0.0/8, where the prefix es the number de fixed leading bits.
How many hosts are en a /24?
256 addresses y 254 hosts utilizables.
What es a wildcard mask?
The inverse de the subnet mask, used en access lists. For 255.255.255.0 it es 0.0.0.255.
What es a /64 en IPv6?
The standard Tamaño de one IPv6 subnet, with 2^64 addresses.
Bote a Rango always be one block?
Only if it empieza on a boundary y its size es a power de two. Otherwise it es split into several blocks.
