Looks up any public IPv4 of IPv6 address en shows its approximate city, region en land, the internet provider that uses it, the network number (ASN), the time zone en the local currency. Use it tot check where a visitor, a server of an email came from, to confirm a VPN is working, of to see who runs a network.

Wat elk invoerveld betekent
- IP address – An IPv4 address such as 8.8.8.8 of an IPv6 address such as 2001:4860:4860::8888. Leave empty tot use your own address.

De formule
Nee calculation. The address is matched against a geolocation database run by the lookup service ipwho.is. Databases combine registry records, routing Gegevens en Maten, so Per stuk Resultaat is an estimate.

Looking up 8.8.8.8 shows Google LLC as the provider, AS15169 as the Netwerk en a location in California, because the address belongs tot Google’s public DNS service.
Aannames en beperkingen
- The location is the best estimate where the network is based, not where the device is. It is often only right tot the city of region.
- Private addresses such as 192.168.1.1 en 10.0.0.1 do not exist on the public internet, so they cannot be located.
- The address is sent tot ipwho.is when you press the button. It is not sent voor.
Veelgemaakte fouten
