Come usare il CIDR calculator
Cosa calcola e quando usarlo
Works out the Intervallo, subnet mask, wildcard mask e size di a CIDR block per IPv4 o IPv6, accepts an address with a dotted mask, e converts a start e end address into the smallest list di CIDR blocks that cover them exactly.
Come si usa, passo dopo passo
- Choose “CIDR block” o “Address Intervallo”.
- Enter a block such as 192.168.10.0/22, or the first e last address di a range.
- Read the first e last address, masks e number di hosts.
- For a Intervallo, Copia the list di CIDR blocchi.
Cosa significa ogni dato
- CIDR block, o address with mask – An IPv4 o IPv6 address followed by /prefix, or an IPv4 address e a dotted mask such as 255.255.252.0.
- First e last address – The two finisce di a range, both IPv4 o both IPv6.
Come leggere i risultati
- Address Intervallo – The first e last address di the block, e the number di addresses.
- Masks – Subnet mask e wildcard mask per IPv4.
- Usable hosts – Addresses available per devices: the total minus the network e broadcast addresses, except /31 e /32.
- CIDR blocchi – For a Intervallo, the Minimo set di blocchi that covers it.
La formula
A /n block has 2^(bit − n) addresses, where bit è 32 per IPv4 e 128 per IPv6. The network address è the given address with the host bits set to zero. For IPv4 the usable hosts are 2^(32 − n) − 2. IPv6 uses BigInt arithmetic per exact results.
Un esempio pratico
192.168.10.0/22 covers 192.168.8.0 a 192.168.11.255, which è 1,024 addresses e 1,022 usable hosts, with mask 255.255.252.0.
Ipotesi e limiti
- Usable hosts follow the usual convention di removing the network e broadcast addresses. /31 links use both addresses e /32 è a single host.
- IPv6 blocchi have no broadcast address.
- A Intervallo that does not In forma one block returns several blocchi.
Errori comuni
- Entering a host address e expecting it a be the network address. The tool shows the real network address.
- Using a non-contiguous mask such as 255.0.255.0, which è not valid.
- Mixing an IPv4 first address with an IPv6 last address.
Domande frequenti
What è CIDR notation?
A way di writing an address range as an address e a prefix length, such as 10.0.0.0/8, where the prefix è the number di fixed leading bit.
How many hosts are a a /24?
256 addresses e 254 host utilizzabili.
What è a wildcard mask?
The inverse di the subnet mask, used a access lists. For 255.255.255.0 it è 0.0.0.255.
What è a /64 a IPv6?
The standard Dimensione di one IPv6 subnet, with 2^64 addresses.
Barattolo a Intervallo always be one block?
Only if it inizia on a boundary e its size è a power di two. Otherwise it è split into several blocks.
