Cómo usar la Email header analyzer
Qué calcula y cuándo usarla
Reads the full headers de an email y shows the route it took, the delay A Cada uno server, y the SPF, DKIM y DMARC results. It also flags signs de spoofing, such as a sending domain that differs from the From address. Everything happens en your browser.
Cómo usarla, paso a paso
- Open the email’s raw headers: en Gmail choose “Show original”, en Outlook open the message properties.
- Copiar everything above the Mensaje body y paste it into the caja.
- Read the authentication Resultados y the route, oldest hop first.
- Check the warnings por domain mismatches.
Qué significa cada dato
- Email headers – The complete header block, starting with líneas such as Received: y Desde:.
Cómo leer los resultados
- Authentication – SPF, DKIM y DMARC Resultados taken desde the receiving server’s Authentication-Results header.
- Mensaje Detalles – Desde, Hasta, Fecha, Message-ID, Return-Path, Reply-To y mailer.
- Route – Cada uno server hop, its address y the Hora added entre hops.
- Warnings – Domain mismatches y failed checks.
La fórmula
Received headers are added at the top by each server, so they are read bottom a top. The delay at a hop es its timestamp minus the previous hop’s. Total delivery time es the last timestamp minus the first.
Un ejemplo práctico
A Mensaje with spf=pass, dkim=pass y dmarc=pass sent from the same domain as its From address, delivered en 5 seconds across 2 hops, shows no warnings.
Supuestos y límites
- The receiving server’s Authentication-Results header es trusted. Earlier Received líneas bote be forged by a sender.
- Hora stamps use Cada uno server’s own clock, so small negative delays bote appear.
- Nada es uploaded.
Errores comunes
- Pasting only part de the headers.
- Trusting the From name. It es easy a fake, so check the domain y authentication Resultados.
- Treating a failed SPF as proof de fraud. Forwarded mail often fails SPF.
