How to use it, step by step
- Enter the starting amount and regular deposit.
- Choose how often you deposit, the yearly rate and the years.
- Optionally enter inflation to see the result in today’s money.
What each input means
- Deposits and compounding – Interest is added once per deposit period.
- Inflation – Reduces the result to a real, today’s-money figure.
How to read the results
- Future value – The balance at the end.
- In today’s money – Future value ÷ (1 + inflation)^years.
- Year by year – Deposits, interest and balance after each year.
The formula
FV = PV × (1 + i)^n + PMT × ((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i.
